Daniel Bilak
Fellow
Daniel Bilak is Managing Partner of international law firm Kinstellar’s Ukraine office.
A Canada-qualified lawyer with 35 years of professional experience in Ukraine, Daniel counsels clients in the defence and defence technology sectors. From 2016 to 2019 he served as the chief investment advisor to the Prime Minister of Ukraine and headed UkraineInvest, the Ukrainian government’s foreign investment promotion agency.
As a senior governance advisor to the Minister of Justice and the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Daniel facilitated anti-corruption, rule of law and public administration reforms in Ukraine between 1994 and 2006. He also advised the governments of Bulgaria and Lithuania on justice reform aspects of their EU accession process.
Daniel currently serves as a volunteer soldier in the Territorial Defence Forces, the Reserve branch of Ukraine’s military.
